Delta morphodynamics- Red River Delta, Vietnam

Delta morphodynamics- Red River Delta, VietnamStudy of the estuarine and sediment dynamics in the downstream branch of the Ba Lat river, Vietnam, and adjacent delta system. read more

Tripods

TripodsTripods consist of a frame on which several instruments can be mounted. These tripods are used to take in-situ measurements of sediment transports on near-shore coastal waters and rivers. read more

Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS)

Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS)Field surveys can be performed using a Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) to measure the morphology of the intertidal beach to understand the short- to long-term behaviour of bar and rip patterns. read more

Spatial pattern recognition in the intertidal beach morphology

Spatial pattern recognition in the intertidal beach morphologyThe objective of this project is to understand the short- to long-term behavior of bar and rip patterns on the beach. This is done by monthly surveying the beach morphology, describing and doing morphometric analysis of the intertidal bar morphology using the ARGUS video images of Noordwijk and Egmond aan Zee in the Netherlands. read more

Land degradation, estuarine dynamics and delta development in the Berau system

Land degradation, estuarine dynamics and delta development in the Berau systemThe Berau delta and barrier reef system, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, represents a complex coastal system with a variety of coastal landforms. This project focuses on studying the conditions under which the estuary acts as either a trap or a conduit of sediment. Given the river discharge and sediment supply from the Berau drainage basin, the actual flow and sediment transport through the tidal river, the estuary and the coastal shelf towards the coral reefs can be estimated. read more
